In noisy areas / large compartments where the crew is required to perform long term daily work it can be diffi cult to reduce the sound energy in the room, where the sound sources are placed close within the working area.

Here encapsulation of the source is the most effective solution. 

A box of steel or alu plates covered by Rockwool on the inside, which then is placed around the source of sound, i.e. a aux engine, compressor, pump, ventunit, etc.

Depending on the risk of internal pollution, frequency of maintenance and service, the Rockwool should be mechanical protected.
